James Alexander was born about 1652 in Raphoe, County Donegal, Ulster, Ireland.
He married Mary Steele about 1680.
From "The Early Settlers of Maryland" by Gus Skordas, James Alexander was a passenger on the merchant ship "St. George"
which sailed from Waterford, Ireland to Maryland on October 7, 1677. The "St. George" was carrying 180 passengers to Maryland. On
November 1, 1678 John Quigley, another merchant captain, applied for land warrants for transporting the same 180 passengers to
the interior of the provence of Maryland.
