Cynthia Ashworth was born March 9, 1900 in Call Junction, Newton County, Texas.
She was the daughter of Elias Arthur Ashworth and Isabel Elizabeth Drake.

She died August 6, 1982 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas and was buried in the Miller cemetery, Starks, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. At the time of her death she was living in Vidor, Texas.

Cynthia Ashworth married William Asa Howard, Jr. May 6, 1920 in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.

Cynthia Ashworth gave birth to a daughter who was named
Helen Lucille Howard. This is our direct ancestor

  • Some of my fondest memories are going to grandma's house and spending a weekend. On top of all the other neat things like getting your water from a well and having 2 dogs, Grandma Howard also had a 2-seater outhouse. Indoor plumbing hadn't yet arrived and electricity would be a few years down the road. "Coal Oil" lamps had to be lit at sun down. This would have been in the 1940's and 1950's.

    Like many others in the Southwestern portion of Louisiana, grandma was related to most folks in town in one way or another. For instance, she was related to James Joseph Ashworth, Sr. on both her father and mother's side of the family. Click here to see the relationships.
